Navigator's Project - High School Program
The Navigator Project is Haywood Haven’s high school learning track—designed to equip teens with both the practical skills and the personal development they need to step confidently into adulthood. Offered on Mondays, this program blends hands-on training with Christ-centered guidance to help students discover who God created them to be and how to live out that calling with purpose.
Our goal is simple:
To help students find God’s purpose for their lives—and equip them to live it well.
Where Identity Meets Calling - and Skills Meet the Real World
Students gain real, marketable skills such as website design, graphic design, entrepreneurship basics, and financial literacy, while also developing the personal disciplines that shape mature, capable young adults—time management, communication, personality awareness, leadership, collaboration, decision-making, and more.
Rooted in Scripture and grounded in the belief that each student is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), The Navigator Project expands beyond academics. It helps teens understand their God-given identity, grow in practical competency, and chart a clear, hope-filled path toward the future God has prepared for them.
Website Builder with Digital Media Buzz
In this hands-on class, students learn how modern websites are built from the ground up. Taught by Lorelei Garnes, founder of Digital Buzz Media and the designer behind Haywood Haven’s own website, teens gain practical experience in HTML, CSS, WordPress, and Elementor—one of the most widely used page builders in the industry.
By the end of the course, students will walk away with genuine web-building experience, increased confidence, and the foundational skills needed to continue exploring web design, content creation, or even future freelance opportunities.
Students must bring their own laptop and a computer mouse to participate fully.
Charting Your Course
Identity, Purpose & Skills.
Students dive into the PLACE Framework, a biblically grounded process that helps teens understand their Personality, Spiritual Gifts, Abilities, Passions, and Life Experiences—all through Scripture.
This is not simply a self-discovery class. Students also build essential life and leadership skills connected to each PLACE component, including financial literacy, interview and communication skills, team-building and leadership awareness, career exploration and vocational alignment, relationship assessments, understanding work styles, and healthy collaboration, among others.
Students gain both clarity and competency as they uncover their God-given design and the practical skills needed to live it out confidently.
